EX-NAVIGATOR DEAD OF POLIO
William Wallace Strong Is City’s 9th Victim,
William Wallace* Strong, 5776 N. Delaware st. former navigator and flight engineer on a B-29 Superfortress, died of poliomyelitis yesterday in ‘Methodist hospital. He was 26. Mr. Strong's death is the ninth city polio fatality for the summer. Services will be held. Thursday at 2:30 p. m. in Flanner & Buchanan mortuary. A native of Cleveland, O., Mr. Strong lived here since 1923. He was a graduate of Shortridge high school, a former student at Purdue university and a member of Fifty-First Street Methodist church. An employee of the Allison Division of General Motors before he entered the service, Mr. Strong was discharged in February from the]. service. : : Survivors are his wife, Eleanor Strong; his parents and Mrs. Lamar 8. Strong, and a brother, Joe R. Strong, all of Indianapolis.

Burial will be in Floral Park cemetery. Mr. Bowman, who was 34, died of a heart attack yesterday while at work. A native of Carthage, Tenn, he had lived here 29 years and had been an employee of the castings firm 13 years. He lived at 766 N. Tremont st. - Survivors are his wife, Pearl; a daughter, Sharon; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. David E. Bowman; four sisters, Mrs. Jack Holt, ‘Mrs, Grace Schroeppel and the Misses Frankie and Juanita Bowman, and four brothers, Cordell, Raymond and James, all of Indianapolis, and Edward, seaman ®d cl, Attu, Alaska.
