‘By EDWARD v. ‘ROBERTS United Press Staff Correspondent LONDON," Sept. 12. —~Jewish leaders in. London seeking British support for an independent Zionist state in Palestine are talking in terms of a free Jewish nation with a population of two. million within 20 years. While. they offered no concrete proposals for the Jewish state's boundaries, the Jewish leaders maintain it must be large enough to be self-supporting. The estimated current over-all population of Palestine is less than two million, including roughly 600,H 000 Jews and 1,200,000 Arabs. These leaders insisted that in the next five to 10 years another 750, 000 Jews must leave Europe. They said Lghe bulk of them would want to go to Palestine. The Jews want the plan for an independent Jewish state discussed at the current London conference on Palestine, which no Jewish representatives are attending.

Many Jewish and Arab leaders are watching Russian maneuvers in middle east diplomacy warily, Some observers believe that Russian moves might bring the Arabs, Jews and British closer together, er t———————————— BROADCASTS CLEAR By Science Service WASHINGTON, Sept. 12.—Shortwave radio broadcasts, particularly those following North Atlantic paths, will come through clearly during the next week, the National
