ARMY PLAN URGED
WASHINGTON, Sept. 11 (U. P.).| —The British imperial general staff was reported desirous.today of promoting a common bond of training, organization and equipment between British and U. 8S. armed forces. Reliable war department sources said this was the objective of the current visit ‘in this country by Field Marshal Viscount Bernard Montgomery, chief of the British general staff. Gen. Montgomery arrived here by plane late yesterday after a visit to the military academy at West Point. He was greeted warmly at the airport by his old comrades-in-arms, Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower, U. 8. chief of staff, and Gen. Omar N. Bradley, now veterans’ administrator, British and American military sources said Gen. Montgomery was impressed in world war II with the need for a closer co-ordination of British and American training programs. His ideas, it was said, envision similar staff, corps and division organizations in the two armies. Items of supply including food, ammunition, guns, tanks and other equipment would be co-ordinated.

Surviving Binder
MIDDLEHAM, Yorkshire, England, Sept. 11 (U. P.).—Linda Feasby, 4, was following her father's binder as it clattered over a wheat field. She put her hands on the canvas intake roller and was whisked into the chopping compartment along with a sheaf of wheat. Linda slid past the razor-sharp knives and tumbled out on the stubble with a bound stack of wheat, Her trembling father exclaimed: “Those knives must have missed the soles of her shoes by inches.” Linda said: “My, it was dark in there.”
