Officials of the 13th naval district at Seattle said today the battleship Indiana rwould be placed in commission in reserve at ceremonies at the Puget So und naval shipyard, Bremerton, tomorrow. The ship was constructed at Newport News, Va. and was laun ched shortly before the Japanese struck Pearl Harbor, The Indiana took part in the occupation of the Gil bert islands and was a member of Task Force 58. One of the few modern battleships to see action from the start of the war t6 the end, the Indiana covered 234,886 wartime miles and burned 36,432,000 gallons of fuel oll. :
