Lag in Increase Blamed on Price Uncertainty.

Employment in Indiana factories in the month ended July 15 increased only 1 per cent, the Indiana employment security division of the U. 8. department of labor said today. } : Officials blamed “price uncertainty due to debates on the OPA issue” for the lag. They still main tained hopes fqr “large gains” in employment in canning industries during August and September. A survey made among 1625 industries throughout the state showed 383,180 production workers employed on July 15. The figure was 8.1 per cent below July 15, 1945,
