He was 53. A bus supervisor for the Indian apolis Railways 27 years, Mr. Hapkins was a native of New Market, Tenn. He was a member of East Tenth Street Methodist church, the Everson Bible class, Oriental lodge 500, F. & A. M., Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine. Survivors are his wife, Mrs, Lucille Hankins; two daughters, Mrs. Byrnece Harris and Miss Irene Hankins, both of Indianapolis; a son, Joseph Hankins Jr. Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. W. B, Gibson, Atlanta, Ga. and Mrs, Earl Sherman, Muncie, and a brother, Jack Hankins, Wabash.

RALPH K. WHEELER Private funeral services will be held Thursday for Ralph K. Wheeler, 2523 Central ave, who died yesterday in his home. He was 56, A native of Indianapolis, Mr. Wheeler was a former inspector for the R. C. A. Corp. He was also a Scott radio representative here for many years. Mr. Wheeler was. a veteran of world war I and is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jeannette Hoover Wheeler and a brother, Roy H. Wheeler of Indianapolis.

Janot 8. Roskin ” n » Janot S, Roskin, widely known composer, conductor and publisher of Jewish music and music director at Beth-El Zedeck Temple. died yesterday in St. Vincent's hospital. He was 60. Born at Riga) Latvia, Mr. Roskin studied music in his homeland many years. He completed his training in Berlin, where: he later became choirmaster of a syna-

gogue. Early in life he made notes on many Jewish folk songs. They were published by the publishing house “Musikverlag fur National Folkskunst” which he founded in Berlin. With the advent of the Nazi regime, Mr. Roskin moved his publishing house to Boston, Mass, where he also served as director of music at Temple Israel,

He later was music director at Temple Emanuel at Newton, Mass, which position he held before coming to Indianapolis in 1943. Mr. Roskin was a member of the Zionist organization, Beth-E] Men's club, Jewish Music, Forum of New York and New England Choir Directors’ association at Boston. He is survived by his wife, Mrs, Evelyn Borofsky Roskin, 3139 Central ave. Rabbi William Greenfield and Cantor Mpyro Glass will conduct services at 2 p, m. tomorrow in Beth-El Zedeck Temple. Burial will be in Beth-El Zedeck cemetery.
