university officials announced today. The purpose of the experiment was «outlined by Dr. Ancel Keys, director of the university's laboratory of physiological hygiene: “It. is to determine the relationship between man’s diet and exercise habits with the degeneration of his heart and blood vessel system with resulting high blood pressure, hardening of the arteries or stroke.” The .experiment, which begins next fall, will be conducted by Dr. Keys, whose recent study of starvation fatigue with conscien~
