If Mrs. America does not save her waste fats and turn them in to her grocer as she did during the war, she will soon be without any type of soap, the American fat salvage committee announced today. In order to get more raw materials for soap making, leading soap manufacturers are co-operating with the department of agriculture in a program to revitalize the waste-fat-saving work the American housewife did during the war. The committee pointed out that |consumers would have received 13 {per cent less soap in 1845 if it

hadn't been for the fat:saving housewife, Statisticians also say, salvaged

household fats supplied enough raw ‘material to produce approximately half of the .toilet bar soap, all of the yellow Bar soap, and abqut 25 per cent of the heavy duty packaged laundry soap.
