Four . Without "Diphtheria, Typhoid Deaths. in '45.
By Science Service CHICAGO, duly 25.—Four Indiana cities are among the 31 earning “gold stars” by reason of having had no deaths from either diphtheria or typhoid fever during 1045. They are Evansville, Ft. Wayne, Gary and South Bend. The cities are listed in the forthcoming issue of the Journal of the American Medical association, which obtained the information from health officers of each of the com~ munities. Lynn, Mass, has been without diphtheria or typhoid deaths for nine years, The 1945 “honor roll,” in addition to the Indiana cities, lists Akron, Albany, Bridgeport, Cambridge, Canton, Des Moines, Elizabeth, Fall River, Grand Rapids, Lowell, Lynn, New Haven, Paterson, Peoria, Reading, Rochester, Salt Lake City, Scranton, Somers Syracuse, Trenton, Utica, Waterbury, Wichita, Worcester, Yonkers, Youngstown,
