Three Are Seriously Hurt in Week-End Accidents.
Three persons were seriously injured and four others received minor injuries in city’ traffic accidents over the week-end. Charles Mitchell, 29, of 730 Lexington ave, is in a critical condition in Veterans hospital with head injuries and Lucille Ross, 3102 Madison ave, is in serious cond{tion at City hospital with a fractured right leg and head injuries. They were passengers in a’ car, driven by Russell Wheat, 32, of 730 Lexington ave, which crashed through a six-inch concrete wall at the end of a blind alley in the vicinity of 8. East and Morris sts. last night. Mr. Wheat was chargéd with operating a car under the influence of liquor, reckless driving and being drunk. Mrs. Ruth McDuff, 32, of 2244 N. New Jersey st, was in St.. Vincent hospital with possible hip and rib fractures received last night in an automobile collision at Alabama and 13th sts, 2 Soldiers Injured She was a passenger in a car driven by her husband, Robert McDuff. Police charged the driver of the other car, Harold Goodman, 26, of R. R. 2, Linton, with failure to stop for a preferential street. Two soldiers from Camp Atterbury were injured slightly Saturday when they walked/into the path of an automobile ven by Jerry Mahoney, 22, of 2629 W.
