Bob Sweeney and Buddy March will bow in at the spot where Kate Smith used to sing. For the first time they'll have a network show' they can ‘call their own after piddling around in the bush leagues and making est appearances on some of the top programs. Back in 1943, they d a “waker-upper” in San Franciscé. Before that March was a noodle salesman and Sweeney drove a Yellow Cab. One-half of them went inte the Army (I forgot which half), and when he came out they hit upon the idea of satirizing life. Miss Fletcher also wrote the greatest radio mystery drama ever penned, “Sorry, Wrong Number.” Other radio columnists often mistakenly credit its authorship to Arch‘ Obler. Gilbert Forbes, who newscasts 5000 words a day in three broadcasts to Hoosier listeners, just presented his son, Jack, with an unusual birthday present. The boy was 16 on July 10 so Forbes sent him to the Astronomical Society convention in Detroit for the achievement. Reason why is that the lad has a favorite pastime of star-gazing. He has his own telescope, is now working on the craters of the moon, and mapping the sky any month of the year is kid stuff for~him.
