President to’ Spend Weekend at Mountain Hideout.

WASHINGTON, July 3 (U, P).— President Truman is going to try to get, some , genuine rest, beginning today, at Shangyi-La, the presidential hideout In the Catoetin mountains of Maryland, The President was expected to be away from the White House until Sunday night or early Monday. Following somewhat the let's-get-out-of-town plans of other government workers, the President and his wife will motor to Shangri-La, just north of Thurmont, Md, this afternoon, Last night Mr, Truman signed a bill to give other federal employees a long Fourth of July week-end. They will get an extra holiday Friday, but will be expected to make up for it by working some Saturday they otherwise would have off. The official presidential party will include Mr. Truman and his wife, plus necessary secret service agents, and navy cooks and stewards.
