welcome new ministers and officers tomorrow. : The Broadway Methodist church will hear the first sermon of the Rev. Newman S. Jeffrey at 10:45 a. m. The new pastor will preach on “Partnership.” The Rev. Mr. Jefrey was appointed to the church last Sunday at the closing meeting of the Indiana conference. He succeeds Dr. John F. Bdwards, who become district superintendent. The new Broadway pastor has gerved Indiana conference churches at Salem, Martinsville, Evansville and New Albany. He is a graduate of DePauw university and the Boston univergity schoo! of theology. He and Jeffrey have two children, Miss Mary Jane, 17, De Pauw freshman, and Joe, 11. Succeeds Dr. Shake Dr. Ralph O. Pearson, new min{ster of the Irvington Methodist church, will preach there tomorrow at 10:45 a. m. He has been assigned here from the Rushville district and succeeds Dr. Clarence A. Shake, new superintendent of the Evansville district. The Rev. Ritchie D. Ocheltree, former associate minister of the Broadway church, will assume new duties as minister of the Unity Methodist church tomorrow. The Rev. Mr. Ocheltree will oreach at 10:45 a. m. and 7:45 p. m. E. J. Fricke, lay leader of the North Methodist church, has accepted appointment to the position of lay leader of the Indianapolis district. Mr. Fricke, active in the co-operative field, is manager of the building steel and coal department and assistant general manager of the Farm Bureau Lumber Corp. and general manager of the Interpational Lumbering association.

The vacation pupils welcomed Daniel R. Ehalt, secretary of the Indianapolis Church federation’s department of religious education, and other visitors yesterday. The guests heard four small girls name all the books of both the Old and New Testaments, without faltering. Another class repeated the 23d Psalm and others displayed illustrated, religious scrap books they had made. All the older boys and girls assembled in the worship room to give a little concert for the guests. At first the singing came softly and sweetly in a short prayer hymn.
