has been a Dinah Shore hit up to now, but Jimmy Dorsey's wax seems to be coming into it's own, It has good reverse, a calypso-like rhythm tune called “All That Glitters Is Not Gold” “They Say It's Wonderful,” just one of a number of good Como releases, is, like “Doin’,” an Irving Berlin number. The Peggy Lee wax is a pewcomer to the beet selling brackets locally, but it's no novelty for the honey-voiced songstress to get top billing. It's hard to decide which side of this platter deserves first mention, since the flip “I Can See It Your Way,” is almost as popular as “I Don't Know” and equally listenable. Up and coming new releases included: VICTOR—Charlie Spivak may have cut his new Victor with “You Are Too Beautiful” intended as the No. 1 side, but we disagree. The flip, “Flat Feet” demonstrates a different—and slightly better— Spivak. As far as we're concerned the all-instrumental has it all over the “sweet” “You Are Too Beautiful” ballad with a Jimmie Saunders vocal , . . Freddie Martin is at it again, rewriting the classics. He took a catchy bit from Prokofieff’s “Peter and the Wolf,” and turned it into a novelty called “Dingbat, the Singing Cat.” The lyrics don't amount to much, but the tune is catchy, Stuart Wade, Glenn Hughes and the Martin Men do the vocals . . . The flip is a leisurely lullaby “Happy Journey,” sung by Wade and the vocal group .. . Victor has three “international” releases this week. The popular Henri Reno orchestra puts a lively lilt in two skater songs, “Danube Waves” and “The Skaters” . .. A Polish folk offering by Walter Ossowski and his instrumental quartet offers two rhythmical European numbers, “Pilot Polka” and “At the Banquet” . . . The third international is a Latin-American novelty “Pronto Jose,” which is vocalist Octavio Mendoza's version of a South American “Joe.” The reverse is a fast paced guaracha which makes Sacasas orchestra step lively to keep up with a colorful maracas
