P.).—Ap-~ proximately 3000 - delegates representing a politically-powerful force of 2,500,000 clubwomen today began formulating policies on public issues ranging from price control to atomic energy and a universal calendar, The General Federation of Women's Clubs started six days of business sessions ‘after their meeting was opened officially last night at la dinner sponsored by the Illinois féderation, largest of the state groups. Delegates were welcomed by Gov. Dwight H. Green of Illinois and Mayor Edward J. Kelly of Chicago. Teen-age 4-H'ers are attending classes in the school buildings nearest their homes and high school pupils are helping in many of the classes. Seventeen teuchers are in charge of the six-weeks’ program, assisted, also, by the parents. The seventh week will be devoted to displays showing the work done during the summer, Cooking, canning, sewing, meal planning, crafts and helping at home are part of the summer program and members will keep records at home of the things they do. They'll get credit for helping with, meals, washing and ironing clothes, cleaning the house, reading and many other household tasks or constructive hobbies. | The school board is co-operating with the Purdue extension center in the 4-H program.
