OPENING TODAY
AT THE INDIANA — “Kitty,” from the novel about a gal described in the current film's publicity as “a beautiful, brazen spitfire.” Paulette Goddard does the spitfiring in this costume drama, playing opposite Ray Milland, who, after losing that week-end, ‘finds himself in the 18th century.
AT LOEW’'S=“The Postman Always Rings Twice,” from James M. Cain's grim novel, is a story of a man and woman in love and plotting to do away with the woman's unwanted husband.
AT THE LYRIC — “Devotion,” with Ida Lupino, Paul Henreid, Olivia De Havilland and Sydney Greenstreet, moves over from the Indiana. Concerned with the pri vate. life of the Bronte sisters, famed novelists, the picture reveals some of the turbulent, emotional goings on in the Bronte household.
