CHICAGO, May. 17.—Edward P, Jones,” 48, Negro multimillionaire and gambling racketeer, was released unharmed by kidnapers early today. Jones, who rose from dining car’ | waiter to overlord of Chicago's lu- | crative policy game, was abducted last Saturday night by four masked gunmen, . Despite his release, circumstances {of his kidnaping remained a mystery. It was the third time in his fabulous career he had been abducted. The two previous kidnapings never had been reported. Jones ®vld reporters he had been blindfolded through the five days of his captivity. He said he did not know who his captors were, and that he had not spoken to them during his abduction. He was not abused, he said, and was fed adequately. His neat blue pin-stripe syit and clean white shirt bore evidence that his stay with his captors had not been uncomfortable.
