~ Second Annual ~ Meet Billed

For Tomorrow

O'BRIEN Nearly 500 high school boys with a spring in their step and a championship "in their dreams will compete for medals and mention tonmiorrow in the second annual Indianapolis Relays at the Tech stadium. This large field representing 14 schools will bid for points in 12 events, and their efforts undoubtedly will establish some new records. All times and distances written into the books in last year’s inaugural carnival when Shortridge won the title naturally stand as records. The afternoon extravaganza is aimed at drawing and entertaining a large crowd. Eight of the 12 events are relays, which always have spectator appeal. Additional] color will be provided in an opening | parade of athletes at 1 p. im. and by a bevy of queens representing the! competing schools. Limit Trials The Relays officials also oy that any lag in a track program is as dull as dead time on the radio They hope to run the events In rapid-fire order and they have planned further at speeding up proceedings by limiting trials to four
