Music Is Set For Services

Traditional Offerings to Reflect Joy, Sorrow. -

Many musical compositions scheduled for Palm Sunday church gervices reflect only the joy associated with that day while others offer a foreshadowing of Good Friday and the crucifixion. } . The music recalls certain masterpieces of painting and a New Testament story. With the mind's eye, we see a slender, bearded man, with a spiritual countenance, riding into Jerusalem upon a donkey. The crowd shouts “Hosanna” and casts palm branches before him. The children add their voices to the din. “The King's Welcome” by Whitehead, so expressive of Palm ‘Sunday will be sung by the youth choir under the direction of Miss Martha Metcalf tomorrow morning ‘in the Eighth Christian church. Shelley's cantata, “Death and Life.” will be presented at 7:30 p. m. | William F. Moon will direct the cantata, “The ‘Briumph of the! Cross,” tomorrow at 4 p. m. Centenary Christian church. The University Heights United Brethren church announces the Du- | bois cantata, “The Seven Last | Words of Christ,” to be sung by the | choir under the direction of Eugene | Mogle tomorrow at 5:30 p. m. in the church,
