Mrs.“Katherine W. -Atkins, yepresentative in the last legislature, has announced her candidacy for renomination on the Republican ticket.

* Active in Republican politics many years, Mrs, Atkins was a delegate to the G.O.P, national convention in Philadelphia in 1940. She was = appointed by Governor. Gates to the fair employment practices advisory board. She is a member of the Episcopal Church of the Advent, the Society of Colonial Dames, Junior league, Traveler's Ald society, and the executive committee of the Indianapolis Counell of Social Agencies.

The baby’s basket rests on an old steamer trunk inclosed by the five-foot-high incubator of wood and sheet. Cardboard shields a light globe above. A cheap thermometer gauges the heat provided by the electric heater, fastened on an old light standard.

WARREN SENIOR PUPILS IN TEST

Four Seek Scholarships Awarded by NEA.

Four Warren -Cengral high school seniors recently eompeted for scholarships awarded by the National Education association. They were Pat Free, Mary Winslow, Jane Eash and Warren Timmerman. To be eligible for the competition, a student must be a member of the National Honor society and express his desire to compete. Ten scholar ships are awarded throughout the United States.

Kenneth Tuxhorn was named chairman of the atomic energy forum Tuesday at a meeting of the Warren Central junior historical society. Other members of the forum are Donald Bego, Bettye, Jane Hurt, Kendrick Hatt and Betty Folkening.

Future scheduled activities of the historical society include a breakfast in the school cafeteria April 12. Members of .the committee in charge are Ruth Wukasch and Ruthe Kissel, co-chairmen, and Virginia Sittles, Beverly McClintick and Jo Ann Windisch. Georgialee Hyatt has been appointed editor of the club's year book. Other members of the staff are Kenneth Tuxhorm, Doreen Sanders, Jackie Kirby, Eugene Bardonner, Carole Singleton, Jack Garinger, Bettye Jane Hurt, Betty Meier and Doris Prange. The club will observe Arbor Day Monday by planting a tulip tree at the school. Eugene Bardonner, Betty Folkening and Kenneth Tuxhorn will officiate at the exercises. Jean Bailey is planning the last party of the year, date not yet announced, She is assisted by Alfred Koehring, Don Kleine and Bettye Jane Hurt,

Warren Central will play host to the Gray-Y recreational convention tonight and tomorrow. John Turner, head of the east branch of the Y. M. C. A. planned the convention, which will be attended by

MEETINGS PLANNED FOR JEWISH LEADER

It. Col. Judah Nadich, former aide to Gen. Dwight D, Eisenhower and the first Jewish chaplain to go overseas in world war II, will speak three times in Indianapolis next week.
