Russell Townsend Jr., who recently re-entered the life insurance business here after serving more than three years in the navy, has announéed his candidacy for the Republican nomination for state representative, Before entering the navy, Mr. Townsend was Republican member of the board of trustees of the Indiana Reformatory and served as treasurer of the institution. He is a member of the Benjamin Harrison Memorial commission, and a former president of the Indiana Junior Chamber of Commerce, His candidacy is sponsored by the recently organize Republican Veterans of world war II. He is assistant professor of insurance at the Butler university night school, a graduate of Shortridge high school, Butler univer. |sity and the University of Pennsylvania.
