Long Missing Flier Is Officially Dead

Flight Officer John P. Dean, missing since January 12, 1946, has been officially declared dead by the war department. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Dean, 620 Cole st. Mr, Dean was a native of Marion county and was a ¢ graduate of Ben Davis high school. Prior to entering the air corps in { March, 1943, he {had been em-§ {ployed by the Union Trust Co. He was commissioned at Hondo Field, Tex., and sent overseas in January, 1045. John P.Dean He was stationed for several months with the 9th troop carrier squadron on ‘Saipan. Mr. Dean was a member of the Lynhurst Baptist church and the Wayne American Legion post. Survivors are his parents and a brother, Radio Technician 3d CL James L. Dean, serving with the navy in the Philippines. Memorial services are being post-
