Jones and Mr. Kirk is the son of Mrs. Clarence L. Kirk. The bride-to-be was graduated from Tudor Hall school and attended Ohio Wesleyan university, the John Herron Art school and the New Scheol for Social Research in New York. She is a member of The Players. A graduate of Orchard school and the Southern Arizona School for Boys, the bridegroom-to-be attended the University of Arizona and the Art Center school in Los Angeles. He is a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and the Columbia club. He recently wa$ discharged from the navy after three and a half years’ service. t J » » ” = s
Miss Elizabeth Ann Thomson's engagement to Maj. Henry Clay Conner Jr. is announced by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack A. Thomson. Maj. Conner is the son of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Conner, East Orange, N. J. The wedding will be early this summer after Miss Thomson's graduation from Stephens college. Now on terminal leave, the prospective bridegroom is a former member of the 27th bombardment group of Bataan and was listed as missing in action by the war department for 35 months. Upon the liberation of the Philippines, Maj. Conner was found as a leader of a guerrilla band. He is a graduate of Duke university and a Sigma Phi Epsilon &faternity member.

Mrs. J. H. Schneider has announced the engagement of her daughter, Leah Jean, to Harry Joseph Traugott, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Traugott. No date has been set for the wedding. The bride-to-be is a senior at the John Herron Art school and will be graduated in June. Mr. Traugott attended the University of Michigan where he was a member of Zeta Beta Tau fraternity. He recently returned after four years’ service in the army air forces. He spent 37 months overseas. =

A RECEPTION IN THE HOME of Dr. and Mrs. William Niles Wishard Jr. will follow the marriage today of Mrs. Wishard's sister, Miss Sarah Elizabeth Davis, and Lt. Byrne E. Hallett. The ceremony will be at 4:30 p. m. in the First Presbyterian church with Dr. George Arthur Frantz officiating. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. W. J. S. Davis, Loogootee, and Mr. and Mrs. James T. Hallett, Indianapolis. An ivory-satin gown with lace accents has been chosen by the bride. A crystal beaded satin half-hat will hold her two-tiered fingertip veil. She will carry a white prayerbook topped by an orchid. Miss Virginia Davis will be her sister's maid of honor, and bridesmaids will be another sister, Miss Priscilla Davis, Loogootee, and Miss Phyllis Hallett, sister of the bridegroom. They will be dressed alike in blue taffeta frocks. Their bouquets will be of blue iris, delphinium, cornflowers and white carnations. Susan Scoville Wishard, niece of the bride, will be a flower girl and william Niles Wishard III, the bride's nephew, will be ringbearer. Maj. Fred T. Hallett will be his brother's best man.
