Hoosiers in’ April will be asked to contribute $281,120 to fight cancer which took more than 19,000 lives in the last four years in the state, Mrs. Ronald M. Hazen, executive vice president of the Indiana Cancer soclety,- announced that William H, Ball, Muncie, business and civic leader and president of the society, will head the statewide campaign to raise Indiana’s share of the national goal of $12,000,000. The funds will support cancer research, education and treatment.

SPRINGFIELD - CHORUS TO OFFER CONCERT
The Concordia Seminary chorus of Springfield, fll, will present a sacred concert tomorrow at 8 a.m. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran churci. The 25-year-old chorus of 40 male voices is said to be the largest group of its kind in Illinois. Prof. Fred L. Precht is the director. ' Following a trend in present Lutheran musical circles, the chorus has selected numbers composed in the 16th century and masterpieces of the polyphonic school for the program, These include two “brooding Lenten meditations” of Palestrina, Bach's “O Jesulein Suess,” Hwo typical Polish carols and a Handel number.

R. H. Beville, constable of Center township, has announced that he will become a candidate for reelection in the forthcoming primary. Mr. Beville, who lives at 1703 N. Delaware st., is a member of Center Masonic lodge, Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine.

~ Escapee Gives Up 30-Year Fight
TALLAHASSEE, Fla., March 14 (U. P.).=C. A. Boyett, Uniontown, Pa., world war I veteran, who for 30 years. had lived. in the shadow of the law, -yesterday gave up his fight to escape a Florida life term murder sentence. Boyette notified the state pardon board that he was withdrawing his plea for a full pardon and giving up his legal fight for freedom. Convicted and sentenced in 1918 after killing John Cayson, a taxi driver, in a fight, Boyett fled the Marianna jail before he could be sent to the state prison. Leaving behind him a wife
