Advent Episcopal Church ls Scene Qf Jordan Washburn Ceremony

GOWNED IN CANDLELIGHT SATIN and wearing her mother’s wedding veil, Miss Betty Lee Washburn became the bride of William McAdams Jordan at 12:30 p. m. today in the Advent Episcopal church. The Rev. Thomas R. Thrasher heard the vows before an altar ar‘ranged with white flowers and greenery. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Beard Washburn and Mr. Jordan's parents ate Mr. and Mrs. William Conrad Jordan of Springfield, O. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a satin gown fashioned with a fitted bodice, a sheer round yoke of Nottingham net outlined with a band of embroidered seed pearls, and long sleeves tapering into «points over her haiids. " Her full gathered skirt ‘extended into a train. A heart-shaped bonnet of princess lace held her full-length veil of French illusion in place. The veil was edged with princess lace. She carried a shower bouquet of Johanna Hill roses and ivory freesias. Miss Mary Boyd Higgins, maid of honor, wore a mist blue taffeta gown styled with cap sleeves, fitted bodice, a miniature round collar and a wide billowing skirt. The bridesmaids, Miss Jo Anne Jordan, the bridegroom’s sister, and Miss Betty Mayer, were dressed alike in mist blue taffeta gowns. fashioned like” the maid of honor’s.

Wedding Trip to Tucson, Arizona MATCHING MITTS AND FLOWER HEADDRESSES were worn by the attendants. Miss Higgins carried Willkie roses and the bridesmaids’ bouquets were of Talisman roses. The best man was Lt. Bryan Kee of Daytona Beach, Fla., and ushers were Richard Diedenrich; Richmond; Henry Papper, Ft. Arthur, L. I; and Samuel Fuller. The bride's mother was gowned in Wedgwood rose crepe and wore a pompon of wine carnations. A ‘gown of muted green was chosen by Mrs. Jordan and her flowers were violets. Following the wedding a reception was held in the. home of Mr. and Mrs. Elias C. Atkins.-- Assisting. at the reception were Misses Ava Saunder Davis, Marny Home, Mary Elizabeth Fletcher, Mary Johnson ahd Sallie Eaglesfield. i On their wedding trip to Tucson, Ariz, the couple will stop at the Rancho Romero.
