HOME BUILDERS
| Fredictions in some quarters of the building industry are that the current 60 per cent will be increased. Changes are possible any time through directives of the Civilian Production administration. Agency of CPA The FHA is an agency of the CPA In issuing the priorities for veterans’ homes. Confusion among persons seeking equipment for homes for veterans in existing structures was reported this week by R. Earl Peters, state FHA director. ‘ He" said it is contrary to regulations to issue priorities for this equipment in existing houses unless the materials are used to create additional living quarters. Priorities are permitted for three types of construction: New houses, providing additional quarters in : houses and rehabilitation

'AVOID OVERHEATING, . ADVICE TO OWNERS
Since statistics show that losses from fires in homes mount every time a cold spell comes, here is a safety reminder: It is important that overheating ibe avoided and that all heating equipment, chimneys, flues and vents be checked for defects. Spark arresters’ will aid in preventing fires on combustible roofs—but a safe thing to do is cover the roof | with materials that will not burn, such ‘as asbestos cement es.
