HE spring hat story ‘Is even simpler than ABC. Just “B* and “O"

cover it. “B” is for Bonnets, from Florence Reichman's pink-daisy-wreathed strawcloth to Sally Victor's black lace straw with pink roses and black satin streamers. “B” is for Breton, too, as in Laddie Northridge's black-piped natural shantung, and-"B” is for Victor's Bulging Beret of natural straw braid and puffed black taffeta. “C”.s for the Column turban by Hattie Carnegie; for the trim Cloche as done by Harryson; for Lilly Dache’s Canot (forward-pointing, eanoe-shaped pillbox), and for Crownless hats like Carnegie’s profile-flattering black Bali straw encircled with “C” {§ for Cone Crowns, too, like Victor's shiny black straw “pixie” profile or her casual hat of natural Batavia straw with peppermint green curving stripes backed up by red silk poppies. And most important of all, “C” is for the clear-browed look that all of the hats, big or tiny, worn straight or slanted profile-wise, give their wearers.
