HOLLYWOOD, Feb. 8 (U. P)— Movie Singer Deanna Durbin and her husband, Producer Felix Jackson, today christened their first child Jessica Louise. The six pound, five ounce girl was born yesterday at Cedars of Lebanon hospital, Miss Durbin, 23, and Mr. Jackson, 43, were married in Las Vegas, Nev, a year ago. The actress was divorced in December, 1944. from Vaughn Paul, It was the fourth marriage for Mr. Jackson.

JAP FUNERAL FOR 40,000 PREMATURE

‘Kijuro Shidehara apologized to the Japanese nation tonight because funeral services had been held for '40,000 Japanese soldiers who are still alive. All the soldiers had been officially listed as dead. In a radio speech Shidehara asked the Japanese to aid their repatriated servicemen, whom he described as “filled with sorrow and disillusionment.”
