Buckner Jr. a recent traveler in Europe, and Dr, C. O. Hawley have just returned from a tour of the United States on behalf of the Week of Compassion. Dr. Hawley, director of unified promotion, the central promotional and receiving agency of the Disciples, made the financial appeal, Describes Europe's Plight Dr. Buckner gave vivid descriptions of what he saw and learned in stricken Europe. He is the editor of World Call, international magazine of the Disciples and went to Europe at the request of the World Council of Churches, Dr. Hawley reports that national boards of the Disciples of Christ received an additional $54,412 for their work the last six months of 1945 because of increased gifts of the churches, Receipts for the six months end1045, totaled $687,571. This is a gain of $54,412 over the same period of the previous year.

METHODIST YOUTH CONVENE TOMORROW
Methodist district tomorrow will open their annual mid-winter institute as an introduction to Brotherhood week. The institute for which they have chosen the theme, “The Day of Dawning Brotherhood,” will be held tomorrow, Friday and Saturday nights and Saturday afternoon in the Roberts Park Methodist church.
