WASHINGTON, Jan. 30 (U. P). Between 5000 and 6000 reporters, radio commentators, and magazine writers have asked to “cover” the atomic bomb tests on ships, navy officers disclosed today. Applications have reached such proportions that a joint army-navy board has been created to select correspondents to report the exper~ iment.

campaign to be conducted throughout March were named today, with Bon O. Aspy as chairman. Those who will serve under Mr. Aspy include Roy E. Hickman, city controller; Herman C. Wolff, business man who headed the division last year; Judge Floyd Claycombe; county commissioner Ray Menden~ hall; Frank T. Millis, treasurer of state; Adolph Seidensticker, postmaster; the Rev. Earl A. Feltman, and James D. Strickland, director of the state OPA. Other division chairmen named
