Behrens teamed with Harry Wheeler for a 1247 to add third place in the actual scoring to his runnerup position and Bob Earl and B. Byers connected for 1296 and fourth place. Schaub and Steele, who were the rulers in aetual scoring after the initial weekend of firing are now fifth with their 1222.
Leading individual score of the event is Bob Earl's 668, while Stone and Steele share the lead for the best single game, each having 266s. The event will be concluded Sunday night after another week-end of firing. Gladys Chesnut, a local entrant, finished on top in the first annual National Negro Women’s tournament, conducted at the Fun Bowl over the week-end. She had 1117 for the six games. Winners of other prise winning positions were: Sara Sturidvant (Cleveland) 1097; Jean Covington (Chicago) 1071, Isabell Baxter (Cincinnatl) 1065, Hattie Sellars (Chicago) 1085, Gladys Chesnut 1068, Isabell Baxter 1048 and Maye Johnson (Detroit) 1043. Contestants were not confined to one try at the prize list and many took several whirls at the maples, Additional prizes will be awarded to several others of the 150 contestants.
