Carnelian Club Sponsors Party
Mrs. John Connor will be general chairman of the annual benefit card party of the Carnelian club at 2 p. m. Friday in Ayres’ auditorium. Cut ribs into serving portions. Wipe with damp cloth. Brown in shortening. Add salt and hot water. Reduce heat, cover and simmer (never boil) ribs until meat is just about tender—from % to 1% hours —the time depending on the age of the beef. The last half hour add onions, celery and potatoes. Music Group Receives ‘E’ Bond Award
A fund of $13,000 was secured from musical and non-musical groups over the state in the “Music
Indiana Federation of Music Clubs, it was reported at the recent meeting of the state board of the group. The achievement won the E award for the state group from the National Federation of Music Clubs and the E award with the silver star cluster for Mrs. Frederic Sterling, chairman of the program. It also was reported that the state convention will be held April 25 and 26 in the Hotel Linco Mrs. Clair McTurnan, state presi dent, presided at the meeting the Indianapolis Athletic club. Sorority Plans Benefit Party
The annual bridge party of Sigma Delta Tau sorority will be held at 2 p. m. Feb. § in Ayres’ auditorium, Proceeds of the party will be used for the benefit of the Rotary home at Riley hospital. A film will be bought to be used with a sound projector the sorority presented to the home last November, Mrs. Earl Embry is chairman and will be assisted by Mrs. Paul Miller, Mrs. J. J. Barrett, Misses Esther Royce, Billy Rech and Gertrude Dawson. Nine years ago the group began a project of renting films for the children of the home. Since then all money for the project has been secured through benefit parties.
