Central Indiana churches committed to the Wesleyaf standards will hold a union rally, looking toward a future merger of all or part of their denominations, Friday night in the Second Free Methodist church.

The Second church also will eonduct evangelistic services at 7:30 |p. m, every night next week beginning tomorrow. It is significant that both the song leader and the preacher for the services are mem: bers of the Wesleyan denomination which has taken definite steps toward union with. the Pree Methodist church.

The pastors’ conference will be held Monday through Wednesday and the council of churches meeting, Monday afternoon, in the Roberts Park Methodist church. Dr. Trueblood will preach at 10:45 a. m. and address the church school council at 6:30 p. m. tomorrow in the First Friends church. He recently resigned his position as head of the department of religion and philosophy at Leland Stanford university to become head of the corresponding department at Earlham | college, Richmond, Ind. Popular Author Dr. Trueblood is the author of many religious books the latest of which, “The Predicament of Modern Man,” has received wide popular reading. Other speakers coming for the state conventions are: Dr. Jesse M. | Bader, secretary of evangelism, | Federal Council of the Churches of Christ in America, New York; Dr. William J. Increase Is Shown In Financial Gifts

The new Year Book of the Disciples of Christ shows a decided

gain in financial gifts to the church and small increases in total mem-

bership and Sunday school enrollment, The book is released annually by a publication committee of the various boards of the Disciples with H. B. Holloway as executive secretary. The Disciples of Christ are one of the few denominations which maintain national headquarters in Indianapolis. Sunday schools of the brotherhood show a gain in enroliment
