This is our problem: The baby cries every time her father wants to hold her or love her and doesn’t want him to bother her. When he is home she stops playing in her pen and cries. This hurts his feelings. She is very cute and sweet and clings to me. My husband's gruff voice scares her. When he tries to love her and she cries, he spanks her. Please tell me how to make our daughter love her father, PUZZLED. » : J » Answer: How in the world could your husband expect a tiny baby to
Your husband should let the baby alone until she gets used to havigg him around. He should not try to force her to be affectionate. The most terrible mistake he has made is to spank her. - That increased her terror of him. Now he is not only a strange person with a gruff voice. He is also a person who hurts her. Urge your husband not ' to frighten the baby again. Help your husband to understand and be patient.
DEAR JANE JORDAN-I love my husband, but he often quarrels with me. We have a 6-months-old baby. He is not interested in the child. My mother-in-law also is a problem, Always telling me how to take care of the baby. She tells the neighbors that I do not love my husband. I think my husband does love me because he never goes out. MRS W.T. B. » . n Answer: Many men aren't interested in babies when they are little. Such men often learn to love the children when they are old enough to walk and talk. Pay no attention to your mother-in-law and care for your baby in your own way.
