11:45—Burt Farber a letter
Put your Busi te Jane Jocdan who will answer questions in this column daily.
DEAR JANE JORDAN: I am a girl of 17. I was going with a bashful fellow. My grandmother didn’t like him. She ran him off, Now he is going with a girl who is twice as tall as he is and almost twice as old. He used to dislike her intensely and made me stop running around with her. Can you tell me how to split them up and get him back again? My grandmother {is very grouchy and tries to boss my mother and me all the time, I'm - Jane Jordan o)d enough to have a mind of my own. What can I do? . SKIPPY
» . » Answer: Do nothing, Skippy. When a boy gets himself another girl, just let him alone, that’s all. Don’t moon over him. Go out with other boys whether you feel like it or not. He may not like to see another boy in his place and will try to get you back. But never will come after you if you sulk in a corner. You would like to get the boy back to show your grandmother that you are your own boss. It is too bad she is so bossy. Keep out of her way as much as possible. Don't discuss your affairs with her.

ond time. I love my husband -very much. He says he likes me, but sometimes I wonder. He earns good money, but his married children get most of it. I had my own home and furniture when I married him. He only gives me enough to get by on. If I ask him to get me something for the home he promises to do so, but never does. I try to be a good wife. But his married children always
letting him go. Please help me. WORRIED WOMAN x gg = Answer: Your letter sounds like that of a very young person instead of a mature, twice married woman, At age 43 you should know that the ideal of perfect marriage seldom is realized in fact. Of course your husband shouldn’t do more for his married children than he does for you. However, you knew he had these children. You should have been prepared to share his interest in them. Instead of succumbing to jealously, perhaps you could have persuaded him to let the young stand on their own feet. You appear to be more concerned about his love for you than your love for him. Aren't you more interested in what he can give you thin in what you can give him? I imagine that if your attitude toward the man’s: children were more generous his attitude toward you might become more generous.
