Leswick Connects Little Pete Leswick was spilled unmercifully a couple of times early in the final period and the customers hooted loudly when no penalty was called. But virtue, ever triumphant, was its own reward and the wee Cap winger got up off the ice to fire in the third Indianapolis goal. He banged in his own rebound and other members of his line got assists on the play. Lemieux got his second marker at 13:45 in the period shortly before Holota was set off the ice for tripping. McComb knocked one into was disallowed. Coach Yank Boyd ie put five forwards on the ice in an attempt to catch up and a bit later also hauled in his goalie. A winner must always be declared and that furnishes the main reason the amateur fisticuffers usually tear out at the bell and throw leather the entire distance, The Golden Gloves tourney rounds are of two minutes duration with a minute’s rest between heats. Indications are that from 16 to 20 battles will be staged on tonight's mitt menu. Physical examinations, along with the weigh-in, were held at the Armory this afternoon with Drs. Paul Evans and Harry Brown in charge. The tournament calls for four nights of gloves action, tonight, Jan. 25 and Feb. 1 and 8. The meet is being fought in two classes, novice and, open, but the weight divisions are the same, 112,
118, 126, 135, 147, 160, 175 and heavyweight. Heavy Entry
As usual, the novice class drew a
flood of entries and far outnum-
bered the open boys. Prior to today's physical examinations the ‘tournament's combined entry list hit around the 140 mark. Novices will be called into action first and veteran tournament followers suspect they aye out to “steal the show” again, much to the chagrin of the older mitt tossers. But it probably will be all right with the ringsiders who like to watch the younger lads barge in and throw punches like a scatter gun releases pellets, The event is conducted on an

Bulldogs Edge Cavenien, 38-36
By UNITED PRESS Butler's Bulldogs, continuing to
the Big Ten basketball coaches, told the United Press yesterday that he is thinking of giving up his head coaching job. Lambert, in his 20th season at Purdile, has coached 11 Big Ten champions | and averaged nearly -15 victories out of every 20 games since he took over at Purdue in 1917. Famous as a “bench performer” whose antics steal the crowds attention away from the game, Lambert said there “was some truth in rumors that he was quitting after this season.”
