Wounded at Billings Long
- To March With Air Buddies
By VICTOR PETERSON There will be seven tense, excited but unhappy men at Billings General hospital Saturday. - They are members of the 82d airborne division which saw service in Africa, Sicily, Italy, France, Germany, Holland and Belgium. Saturday their buddies will march and ride through New York streets, waving to ‘the crowds which will line the streets, It will be the gala home-coming of the gallant paratroops and. gliderborne fighters who battled the enemy on so many fronts, Long for Reunion But these veterans at Billings
will not march or ride by the side
of their buddies. They did their job but were stopped by enemy fire or injured in jumps, - Now they are like alumni want-
ing to get back to a class reunion.
“I can’t even sleep part of the time” said 1st Lt. Clayton Day of Ashtabula, O. “Damn, what I wouldn't give to be with them. I'd
walk that route if it killed me.”
A brace still on his leg, Pvt, Ken~ neth R. Eubanks, Pekin, Ill, said: “Gee, I could at least sit in a jeep and wave at the crowds like Gen. Patton used to do.”

Wi all the talk going on he just 8 with a half-smile playing over hig lips and a dreamy look in’ his eyes; Pfc, Clemens Bricker, Point, has a doubld’ reason for wanting to be there. Not only is he a veteran of the outfit but so is his brother, S. Sgt. Elmer, Elmer has been discharged from service but there is a good chance he will show up to get in the parade. Just a Bleak Day Clemens would like to be there to see him if no one- else. Pfc. Earl Kuch, Erie, Mich., didn’t stay with the outfit long but he made fast friends. Entering serv-jce-early in ‘43, he was overseas a few months later, wounded and returned to the states. Not a word came from the gevs enth of the group and a stoic face belied the feeling beneath. Frenche Indian Pfc. Clifton Chippewa, Detroit, has béen in service since 1940. Wounded twice, he fought his way through Africa, Sicily, Italy including Anzio and Holland. It’s going to be a bleak day Saturday for these veterans of the 82d.
