‘A NOVEL way of preparing pumpkin is pumpkin soup. Ths spicy soup, served with peanut butter and bacon sandwiches and canned peaches, is an easy-to-pre-pare luncheon and has both nutritive value and taste appeal.
PUMPKIN SOUP (For Saturday's luncheon) 2 thsps. chopped. onion 2 tsps. chopped green pepper 2 tbsps. margarine 2 ¢. milk, 1 ¢. cooked pumpkin % tsps. salt pepper 's tsps. Warchestershire sauce
Saute onion and peppers slowly in the margarine for five minutes. Add the other ingredients and cook over hot water until very hot. Add
chopped parsley just before serving. Makes four servings. » ~ » BREAD CRUMB OMELET (For Sunday's supper) 1 ¢. soft bread crumbs 12 ¢. milk - 4 eggs «Ya tsp, salt 1 thsp, butter Soak the crumbs in milk and mix with egg yolks, well beaten. Add salt to egg whites and beat until stiff. Fold whites into the yolk mixture, Melt the butter in moderately hot skillet and gently pour in the mixture. Bake in a 325 degree F. oven for about 15 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center, comes out clean. Fold and slice onto hot platter to serve immediately, Mhkes four servings. :
