- LA PORTE, Ind, Jin. 1 (U. P). {—The pilot and three passengers were burned to death late yesterday when a Michigan Central Airlines {plane crashed in a blinding snowstorm seven miles north of here. The plane, en route from Chicago to Flint, Mich, burst into flames after striking the ground. It was more than two .hours before state police were able to recover the charred bodies. The victims were identified as Leroy PF. Treat, 25, Flint, a former army flier, the pilot; Robert Nelson Hall, Detroit; Roland Eugene Secord, Fenton, Mich., and Walter A. Bacon, Ishpeming, Mich. At Flint, officials of the Bishop flying service said that Secord, recently discharged veteran, had ¢chartered the plane to fly to Chicago to pick up Hall and Bacon, both sailors.
