Legion Parade to Include Many Groups.

A giant American Legion parade will highlight the Armistice day observance here which will be held officially on Monday this year. Gov. Gates has proclaimed Armistice day, Sunday, as a8 holiday, but said that legal observance would be Monday instead of Sunday. City, county, state dnd federal offices will be closed. The parade, sponsored by the 11th district of the American Legion, will begin promptly at 10:20 a. m. at Pennsylvania and St. Clair sts. Parade Route Moving south on Pennsylvania st. to Washington st. the parade will then march west on Washington to Illinois, north on Illinois to Market, east on Market to the Circle, right on the Circle to N. Meridian and north on Meridian to St. Clair and there disband. Those taking part in the parade will include: American Legion posts, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Indiana State Guard, The Ft. Harrison band, R. O. T. C. units, Girl Scouts, Grand Army of the Republic, Grand Army of the Republic- Auxiliary, War Mothers, Purple

STATE GUARD WILL EXPAND AIR UNIT

Plans for an expanded air unit for the Indiana State Guard were announced today by Brig. Gen. Elmer W. Sherwood, adjutant general of Indiana, Sherwood said that the facilities of Stout Field would be used by the Indiana Guard as soon as the federal government returned the field to the state, He added that expanded facilities made by the government during the war were necessary for the state's enlarged guard unit, Col. Ben H. Waff is now in Washdngton, .D. OC. discussing the ex. pansion of National Guard aerial activity with army officials, Sherwood said.
