Compton, who was killed Sept. 37 in an airplane crash while ret from New Guinea to Clark Fielda, Manila, will be held at 7:30 p. m. Sunday at Howe High schol chapel, Lt. Compton, who was 26, was the husband of Mrs. Marjorie Compton, 6163 N. Haverford ave, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert 8S. Compton, 3314 E. 13th st, Overseas four Lt. Compton months, Lt. Compton was pilot of a B-24 with the 13th air force. He was flying patrol duty when the crash occurred. He had been stationed in the Netherlands East Indies and at Clark field, He had been in service three years, during which time he and his wife had worked in civil serv~ ice jobs at air fields. A graduate of Technical high school, he attended Indianapolis College of Pharmacy and Purdue university, Surviving are his wife and par ents; a sister, Mrs. Klea McCormick and a nephew, Bobby Mc+ Cormick.

Ww With the re-opening of telephone service direct to France on/November 7, 1945, the Bell System continues its program of re-establishing its overseas service to war-torn areas a8 rapidly as possible. The rate for a three-minute call from Indianapolis to France has been reduced to $12 (federal tax additional). The same rate applies to all European countries reached by the service. Since V:J Day, service has been restored to France, the Netherlands and Italy, In addition, war-time restrictions have been largely removed on calls to other countries where service has continued through the war.
