200, 000 Want Grid Tickefs ~ At:Cleveland, but No Soap; Hotels, Streets to Be Packed

Times Spee CLEVELAND; Nov. 2~The re - in football Jhistory—more than 200,000 fans—would crush Cleveland stadium tomorrow for the Navy-Notre Dame game if seats and tickets were-available. But they haven't been, offically, since Aug. 28. _ On that date both schools sent out the last of 83,000 tickets. Since then checks and cash begging 120,000 more have been sorrowfully refunded, Rev. Pr. John Cavanaugh, vice president of Notre Dame, reported. Municipal stadium will be packed té its towering rafters, the downtown streets mobbed. Hotels have been sold out since late August for

Cleveland is ready to play the part of genial host. The stadium has been painted and cleaned. Eight extra turnstiles have been installed. Trafic Commissioner Martin Blecke has assigned 375 police to handle the collegiate crowd.

There Will Be No Beer, No Coffee

: The Cleveldnd Concession Co. had laid in the greatest supply of #& foodstuffs for any local stadium event. President Ben Goetz has 70,000 hog dogs, 50,00Q cups of hot chocolate, 36,000 bottles of “soft stuff,” 40.000 boxes of peanuts and popcorn plus 35,000 programs. There will: be no

fi beer or coffee sold, he said.

f Navy arrived this morning, checked in at Hotel Tudor and worked out in private at the stadium this afternoon. Notre Dame will get in this evening and stay at Hotel Carter. Neither team is bringing a band. The Cleveland Latin high school band will toot for Notre Dame and Cleveland Lakewood high school for Navy. Tonight the Notre Dame club of Cleveland, under President Ed Kileen and Norman McLeod, is sponsoring a rally at a downtown spot. Guesty will include Adm. Ernest King, boss of the Navy; Jim Crowley, Elmer Layden and Don Miller, three of the {immortal Irish “Four. Horse- - men” of the 1924 team.

Times Special BLOOMINGTON, Ind, Nov. 3.— Indiana’s Hoosiers, top-heavy favorites to defeat little Cornell college of Iowa here tomorrow, prepared to lay out the welcome mat for the Hawkeye school. The contest is scheduled in the form of a “breather” for the undefeated but onee-tied Hoosiers. One week from tomorrow Indiana meets a formidable Western conference opponent—Minnesota at Minneapolis, and Coach Alvin (Bo) McMillin wants to field the strongest Indiana eleven of the season for the Nov. 10 event. The Cornell tussle replaces the game scheduled with Bunker Hill naval base. The air training station is being discontinued. . Coach McMillin plans to leave the piloting of tomorrow's game to his
