Quakers Will Hold 5. Year ~~ Meeting in Richmond
Quakers from all-over the United States and various foreign countries will attend the Five Years Meeting of Friends in America, Wednesday through Oct. 23 in Richmond, Ind.
As the name of the meeting implies, it will be the" first assembly of the supreme legislature body since 1940 when it also met in Richmond. Quakers, known as an outstanding “peace chyrch,” will convene this out of war and to lay their pase for the coming five years. Alvin T. MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR LT. J. B. SMITH
Dr. Logan Hall will conduct a memorial service for Lt. James B. Smith tomorrow at 3 p. m. in the Meridian Street Methodist church. Lt. Smith was shot down over France Aug. 13, 1944. He was the son of Maj. Walter B. Smith and Mrs. Etta Smith. Decorations given Lt. Smith include the air medal, the purple heart and two oak leaf clusters. He was serving as a co-pilot of a B-24 when his plane was struck by flak. The family residence is at 4154 N. Sherman dr.
