BUENOS AIRES, Oct. 11 (U, P). «Col, Juan D, Peron—far from re-| tiring permanently from Argentine politics—emerged today as a candidate for president. He issued the warning that he may ask “war” to regain power. Peron, strong man in the Farrell government, resigned Tuesday as vice president, war minister and labor minister. He told a Latin-American interviewer that he quit solely so that he could run for the presidency " ‘as & simple citizen.” He bid for “labor support in a brief speech at the labor ministry last night, He told cheering crowds that the last two decrees he had signed as labor minister had freed labor

‘ Times Special LAFAYETTE, Oct. 11—Purdue university alumni and friends will celebrate their first post-war homecoming Saturday, highlighted by the Purdue-Iowa football game. Informal luncheons and reunions will be held Saturday by fraternity and sorority houses and other student groups ,and an alumni banquet is scheduled for 6 p. m, at which Acting President A. A. Potter and President-elect Frederick L. Hovde will be honored. Also honored will be the 1920 football team. Following the banquet Larry Lonney and his orchestra will play at the annual homecoming dance. Iron Key, honorary student organigation, will hold its annual breakfast Sunday morning, concluding the festivities.
