his life work trom pounding pavements to treading the grand opera stage, Ian Cosman, a tenor, was granted a week's leave of absence to prepare for his debut in the role of Turiddu in “Cavelleria Rusticana,” at the City Center Sunday. “I hope I'll be judged on my talents as an operatic singer and not as a singing policeman, he said.
