Dr. Snavely, author of “Choose and Use Your College,” addressed the faculty at 2:30 p. m. today following a private luncheon in the university cafeteria. Dr. Snavely will speak on “The Post-War College—Its Problems znd opportunities,” in Sweeney chapel. The meeting will be open to the public. Stresses Revision Need Discussing the curriculum of the post-war college today, Dr. Snavely stressed the need for revision of college courses and gave a resume of the work of a Harvard committee on the Integration of general] {and special subjects. “The specialized courses should be chosen by the student through a system of guidance counseling, wherein the adaptabilities, interests and future plans of the student would be carefully considered. “There is no need to have all the general courses taken in the first two years nor have specialized courses unduly delayed,” Dr. Snavely emphasized. The final test of education, the union of knowledge and reason in the integrated personality, and the importance of good health was brought out in the Harvard committee’s report, Dr. Snavely said. At tonight's meeting Dr. Snavely will discuss the financial problems, especially for smaller independent universities, of holding their faculty and making post-war improvements. Dr. Snavely formerly was a professor of romance languages and literature at Allegheny college. Later he was dean of Converse college in Spartenburg, 8, C, and in 1937 was appointed executive director of the Association of American Colleges. He also hag served as president of the organization,

The force includes the battleships Alabama, West Virginia, Colorado, Arkansas, Iowa, Wisconsin, South Dakota, Texas, Nevada; cruisers Vicksburg, Armsterdam; destroyers DeHaven, Blue, Samuel N. Morse, Lyman K. Swenson, Bursh and Taussig.
