ANTI-CLOSED SHOP BILL FOR GI’S PUSHED

WASHINGTON, Oct. 2 (U. P.).— Chairman John E, Rankin (D. Miss.) of the house veterans committee said today that he will press for early house action on his bill to exempt veterans from “closed shop” provisions of union contracts. “If congress will pass this bill and also see that our young men who are no longer needed in the service are discharged imimediately,” he said, “it will break the (current labor) strikes overnight.”
