DEWEY LAUDS PRESS FOR WAR SERVICES

ALBANY, N. Y., Sept. 27 (U. P.). —QGovernor Thomas E. Dewey said yesterday that the conduct of American newspapers during the war “was nothing short of magnifcent.” In a statement to the New York State Publishers association and the New York Press association in observance of Newspaper Week, Oct. 1-8, Dewey said that never before had , there been such “complete, vivid and enterprising coverage” of complex and moving events.
