SINGAPORE, Sept. 26 (U. P.).— Inter-racial rioting in north Johore, the Malay state across the strait from Singapore, was reported officlally today. Authorities said the clashes in Johore were coupled with demands for an independent government, “Of, by and for the united races of Chinese, Malays and Indians.” The Islamic Malay party was charged with instigating the clashes. It was sponsored by the Japanese in 1942 for the ostensible purpose of assisting them against the Chinese.

Services for Mrs. Grace Brumfield Hensley, director of the Hensley funeral home, will be conducted at 2 p. m. Saturday in her home, 907 W. 30th st, by the Rev, Robert Lewis, pastor of the Seventh Christian church. Burial will be in Crown Hill cemetery. Mrs. Hensley, who was 67, had been an Indianapolis resident 37 years. She died Monday. She had directed the funeral home alone for 30 years.
