NORMANDIE 1S NOW DECLARED ‘SURPLUS

WASHINGTON, Sept. 31 (U, P). ~The navy announced today that the former French liner Normandie, now the Lafayette, had been turned over to the maritime commission as surplus, Now berthed at the Todd Shipbuilding Co. Brooklyn, the Normandie apparently will be disposed of or put to any service which the maritime service sees fit. The navy said that the United States had spent $11,000,000 on the huge liner since she burned and capsized in the North river two years ago. :

Both Ray and Jerry were confused when neither knew the other. Then the mystery unfolded to reveal that Jerry Willlams in England was calling his brother, Ray, in The Dalles, and the call was rerouted to the other Oregon city.
